The DSL-G225 VDSL2 N300 4-port Wireless Router is everything you need for high-speed Internet access in your home. It combines a VDSL2 modem and high-end wireless router together to create a single, easy-to-use device that connects to the Internet, and shares that connection with all of your devices. How do I log into the router’s settings?

Plug one end of a LAN cable into one of the yellow ports at the back of the router, then plug the other end into a computer or laptop.

Once you are connected to the device please open your internet browser (chrome, firefox or Internet explorer etc) and type the following address into the address bar “http://10.0.0.2/” and then click search/enter.

If you have set up the router before a popup will open asking for a username and password. Use the default login details on the back of device. The default username is usually: “admin”, Password: “admin”

Note: If the popup indicates that the details are incorrect, the default details were changed in the initial setup of the wizard. Please use the password it was change to, then select login.


How do I change the Wi-Fi name and password

Login to the routers settings (connect to 10.0.0.2) –> Go to Wireless Connection –> Manual Wireless Connection Setup

Here you can change the SSID (WiFI Name) and the Network key/WPA Passphrase/WPA Preshared key (these all mean Wi-Fi Password)
Be sure to click Apply when done.


I forgot my login password, what do I do?

If you forgot your login details you will unfortunately need to reset the router back to factory defaults to be able to access the router.


How do I reset the router?

To Reset the Router, you will need a small object such as a (PIN/Toothpick/Paper Clip) to insert into the “Reset” hole at the back of the device for 15-20 Seconds, until the power light goes Red.

Note: You will need to reconfigure the router again to get internet access.


Can the Device be used with a Fiber Connection?

Yes, this Device can be used as a Fiber connection. At the back of the Router the blue (WAN) Port indicates Fiber is supported on the device.


Is there a firmware update?

The latest Firmware for this device is AF_3.09_T15 (Telkom Firmware)


Can you use it as an Wireless Repeater?

Unfortunately this device cannot be used as a Repeater as it does not have this functionally built in.


Can you use it as an Access Point?

Yes, this device can be used as an Access Point. To access this function you will need to edit the WAN Profile to use it as an Access Point.


Can I set up a failover to USB dongle?

Yes, Failover is possible. You will need to navigate to Advanced –> 3G Connection Setup.

On this page you will need to Configure the 3G Internet Profile and Set the Primary Internet Source to your current Internet Service
and the Failover to 3G. (So that when the primary stops working the Failover will kick in.)


What VPN’s are supported on this router?

This device supports L2TP/PPTP/IPSEC VPN passthrough.

Note: Third party VPN’s can not be installed or used on this router.


Can I do Port Forwarding on this router?

Yes you can. To access this feature navigate to Setup –> Advanced –> Port Forwarding.


Can you setup Network storage?

Yes you can. To access this feature navigate to Setup –> Advanced –> Storage Service and then configure your user account.

Note: The maximum size storage supporter by this router is 2TB


Some devices are not picking up the Wi-Fi.

If some devices are not picking up the wireless, you can try change the wireless channel from Auto to channel 1 / 6 or 11.

To do this navigate to Wireless connections –> Manual Wireless connection Setup –> Select Channels 1 / 6 or 11


Can I block certain sites?

Yes you can block http sites (not https).

To access this feature Navigate to –> Advanced –> Parental Control –> Block Website –> add a rule.


Can I limit bandwidth per user?

Unfortunately this device does not support Bandwidth Limitation per user.

The DSL-G225 combines the functionality of a high-speed VDSL2 broadband modem and a wireless router in one device, meaning there is no need for separate modem and wireless router devices. Connect to your VDSL2 Internet Service Provider and share the Internet connection with both wireless and wired devices. Lastly, the DSL-G225 gives you the option to connect to your broadband modem using the WAN Ethernet port so you have the flexibility to access the Internet via DSL, Cable, or other connection types.
