Q. Why is the internet light red (globe icon with an i inside) after running through the setup wizard?

A. This indicates that the user account details (PPPOE) are entered incorrectly.

The user account details should have been sent to you from your Internet Service Provider via SMS or E-mail.

The username looks like an E-mail address that usually ends with ISP name with a password.

Please double check that these details have been entered exactly like you see them in the sms or email.

If you are certain that you are typing in the account details correctly and have checked that the details are correct with your ISP - Please upgrade the firmware of your router to the latest version: Available here and retry the setup.

Q. How do I log into the router's settings?

A. Plug one end of a LAN cable into one of the yellow ports at the back of the router, then plug the other end into a computer or laptop.

Once you are connected to the device please open your internet browser (chrome, firefox or Internet explorer etc) and type the following address into the address bar "http://192.168.1.1/" and then click search/enter.

If you have set up the router before a popup will open asking for a username and password. Use the default login details on the back of device. The default username is usually: "admin", Password: "admin"

Note: If the popup indicates that the details are incorrect, the default details were changed in the initial setup of the wizard. Please use the password it was change to, then select login.

Q. How do I change the Wi-Fi name and password?

A. To change the Wi-Fi name:

Login to the routers settings (connect to 192.168.1.1) --> click the Setup tab  --> Wireless Setup --> Wireless Basics and look for the field next to SSID. This is where you can change your Wi-Fi Name.

Click Apply changes once you're done and wait for the progress bar to finish.

To change the Wi-Fi password:

Click the Setup tab  --> Wireless Setup --> Wireless Security and make sure the field “Encryption” is set to --> "SPA (AES)".

Then look for the field named "Pre-shared Key". This is where you change the Wi-Fi Password

Click Apply changes once you're done and wait for the progress bar to finish.

Q. I forgot my login password, what do I do?

A. If you forgot your login details you will unfortunately need to reset the router back to factory defaults to be able to access the router.

Q. How do I reset the router?

A. Under the router there is a small hole marked "Reset".  you will need a think object like a paperclip or toothpick to insert into the hole and keep the button pressed for 15 - 20 seconds. Once you release the button the lights will start flashing, wait until all lights are stable again. The router will now be reset to factory defaults.

Q. Can you use it as an wireless repeater?

A. This Device cannot be used as a Repeater as it does not have the hardware functionally built in.

Q. Can you use it as an access point?

A. Yes, this device can be used as an Access Point. To access this feature you can navigate to the "Setup" tab --> Internet Setup --> Channel Config and make the following changes:

- Change the WAN Physical Type to "Ethernet WAN"

- Change the "Channel Mode" to "Bridge" and select "Add" on the bottom of the page

- Change the Wi-Fi SSID (Wi-Fi Name) so it is different from the main Wi-Fi name, (see "how do I change the Wi-Fi name and password" above)

Note: If you are not getting internet access please make sure DHCP relay is enabled on your main router.

Q. Can the Device be used with Fiber Connection?

A. Yes, this Device can be used as a Fiber connection.

To set up a Fibre connection connect the LAN cable from your ONT (Fibre box) to the WAN/LAN port on the back of the router.

Navigate to to the "Setup" tab --> Internet Setup --> Channel Config and make the following changes:

- Change the WAN Physical Type to "Ethernet WAN"

- Change Channel mode to "PPPOE" or "DHCP (Static IP)".

If Openserve installed your fibre you would most likely use: PPPoE (you will need to enter your PPPoE user account details and click Add)

Note: If the suggested connection type does not work you can try the other type or phone your ISP (internet service provider) to confirm which type you should use.

Reliable Wireless Connection

Featuring 802.11n, the DSL-124 reaches wireless speeds that are up to six times faster than 802.11g. Maximize wireless performance by connecting it to computers equipped with wireless N interfaces and stay connected from virtually anywhere in the home and in the office. Supporting 802.11g and 802.11b, existing wireless devices can also connect to the network easily and quickly while enjoying significantly improved reception.

Solid Security

The DSL-124’s security features prevent unauthorized access to your network from both wireless intruders and Internet hackers. Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) inspects the contents of incoming packets before they are allowed in, while hacker logging helps to protect your network against Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. Additionally, it supports Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA/WPA2) for flexible security and data encryption while a Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button provides an easy way to establish a secure wireless connection.

Enhanced Features

The Wireless N300 ADSL2+ Modem Router offers Quality of Service (QoS), which allows priority queues to enable a group of home or office users to experience a smooth network connection without worrying about traffic congestion. Virtual server allows users to forward ports for remote access.
